The world is full of facts. Science describes how the climate, environment and energy will develop. Politics outlines what the future should look like. Activism demands what we need to do today. But between knowledge, goals and actions, something often remains unseen:
How does this future feel? "Next Generation Fiction Stories" is deliberately an art project. Because art does not explain, it opens. Art does not instruct, it allows us to experience. It creates a space in which we are not allowed to argue, but to feel.

This book is such a space. A protected space for imagination, memory and imagination. A space in which colleagues do not analyse their thoughts on the climate, environment and energy changes, but tell them – from the perspective of a child in the future.

The stories are deliberately anonymous. Without title, role or hierarchy. Whether CEO, System Manager or Team Leader: Every vote carries the same weight. It is not the position that speaks, but the story.

The authors put themselves in the shoes of a child – perhaps in the year 2100, perhaps even further. Into a world that has changed.
A world in which today's decisions have left their mark – both good and bad. A world that can be clean, quiet, resilient or vulnerable.

And you describe how this world feels: the smell of the air, the water on your skin, the telling of your grandparents, the amazement, the matter-of-factness – or the sadness. A child from the current situation. A breakfast scene, swimming on the beach, on vacation, a conversation with the grandmother.

This project does not ask for solutions. It doesn't judge. It demands nothing.

It invites.

To invite people to pause.
To invite people not only to think about responsibility, but to understand it emotionally.
To invite you to look at the future from the perspective of those who will live with our choices today.

"Next Generation Fiction Stories" collects these stories and makes them visible – as a digital book. 

Not as a manifesto.

Not as an appeal. 

But as a common space in which the future takes shape – quietly, diversely and humanly. We wish all participants the courage to imagine, openness in feeling and joy in storytelling.

On the course of the art project. This is how the book "Next Generation Fiction Stories" grows 

"Next Generation Fiction Stories" is a living book.

Not a finished product – but a book that grows in a year after starting in Mai 2026. So th book will be officially closed end of Mai 2027. The result is a very special digital yearbook that collects the voices, thoughts and visions of the future of many colleagues. From this moment on, the book begins to live.

You are the authors of this book.

This means:

Each new story is supplemented. In the table of contents you can see at any time how the book fills up and grows page by page. This makes the creation process visible – transparent, organic and collaborative. 

Writing without pressure 

You don't have to be a writer. Your story can be simple, quiet, clear or playful. You can be supported in writing – also by artificial intelligence. AI is not a substitute for your idea here, but a help to structure thoughts, find words or try out perspectives. It is not perfection that is decisive, but your imagination and your feeling. Writing is done in the first person, from the perspective of a child in the future. The name, age and world emerge from your imagination.

Why a book? 

We thought long and hard about how these stories should be published. In the end, the answer was simple: a book. A book is a quiet space. 

A book does not force a quick reaction. A book invites you to read, linger and come back. As a digital book, it can grow. And you can see it grow.

To accompany this, we are setting up our own stream on Yammer – an additional space just for you: the authors. There you can:

 Share thoughts, comment on impressions, be inspired, resonate with each other. The stories themselves remain anonymous. The exchange can be personal.

When the book closes, all authors who contributed to this book will be mentioned. "Next Generation Fiction Stories" is therefore not just a book with stories. It is a joint process. A book of Fantasy. And a quiet but powerful contribution to the question of how our future could feel.
